A Reddit user posted images of the box, which they say they found on Craigslist (sorry, it’s already sold out). The pictures show the front of the packaging, featuring the undeclared headset and its new controller, and then back with a range of materials for display. The pictures show apps we already know about, such as Beat Saber, Facebook’s own Horizon service and upcoming population: one.
But first seen behind the pack were The Climb 2 and Jurassic World: Aftermath. The former resembles the sequel to Crytek’s popular VR rock climbing game, while the latter is one we haven’t seen before. There is also another shot from Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge which confirms that everyone’s favorite green Jedi, Yoda, will appear in the game.
At the top of the box you will find a headset, two controllers, two AA batteries, a power adapter, a glass spacer and a charging cable in the box. Keep in mind that all this can be an elaborate mock up, but if that’s the case it’s great.
This is just the latest in a series of leaks for Quest 2. We noticed that the product was introduced a few months ago, but only yesterday, Facebook itself published a handful of videos showcasing the new device from earlier. They say the kit offers “an almost 4K” resolution, and uses Qualcomm’s XR2 chipset.
At this point it is certain that Quest 2 will have its official unveiling on Facebook Connect tomorrow. The VR / AR digital event kicks off at 10PT. We will be there to cover all the latest news of the show.
