SEOUL (Reuters) – Major military maneuvers carried out by the United States and South Korea and American threats of a preventive war against Pyongyang have made the outbreak of war on the Korean peninsula "an established fact", Ministry of Foreign Affairs of North Korea said.

"The outstanding question now is: when will the war break out?" The spokesman said late on Wednesday in a statement issued by the official KCNA news agency of North Korea.
"We do not want a war, but we should not hide from it," he said.
Tensions on the Korean peninsula have increased markedly in recent months after North Korea's latest nuclear and missile tests, carried out in defiance of international pressure and United Nations resolutions.
North Korea said last week that it had tested its most advanced intercontinental ballistic missile, which was capable of reaching the United States.
The White House National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster said over the weekend that the possibility of a war with North Korea "was increasing every day."

United States Republican Senator Lindsey Graham also urged the Pentagon on Sunday to begin move the US military dependents, as spouses and children, from South Korea, saying that the conflict with North Korea was approaching.
On Wednesday, a US B-1B bomber joined the joint US military exercises. UU.-South Korea, which are called "Ace Vigilante" and will continue until Friday.
North Korea, which regularly threatens South Korea, the United States and its allies, has denounced the exercises.
"Recently, while the US is carrying out the largest joint aerial drilling on the Korean peninsula to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, its high-level politicians are showing alarming signs making bellicose comments one after the other, "the North said the spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, using the official name of North Korea.
"These war confrontations can not be interpreted in any other way, but as a warning for us to be prepared for a war on the Korean peninsula," he said.
Growing tensions coincide with an isolated visit to the north by United Nations political affairs chief Jeffrey Feltman this week, the highest-level UN official visiting North Korea since 2012.
Deputy Minister Foreign Affairs Pak Myong Guk met with Feltman in North Korea's capital Pyongyang on Wednesday and discussed bilateral cooperation and other matters of mutual interest, KCNA said.
