No holiday break for gas prices in N.J. ahead of what could be a costly summer

Drivers in New Jersey and across the country do not enjoy a vacation break in prices at the pump.

AAA Mid-Atlantic says the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline in New Jersey was $ 2.81 on Friday, five cents more than a week ago and four cents more than prices at this time a year ago.

The national average price of gasoline on Friday was $ 2.83 per gallon, two cents more than last week and higher than the national average of $ 2.74 a year ago.

Analysts say that the demand for gasoline and the decrease in supplies of crude oil and gasoline throughout the country continue to push prices up.
