The Nintendo Switch is a great portable gaming laptop that gets even bigger because of the variety of games that are falling on it. All that is really missing, at least for some owners, is the ability to turn the device into a great portable media player such as the Nintendo DS system. It may still take a long time, but Nintendo could be taking small steps with the expected arrival of a YouTube application on the Switch in the coming days. At least based on a leak.
It is not a completely remote possibility. Nintendo hinted at giving the Switch some media transmission capabilities at least even if it does not support local music playback and video files. In fact, the switch already has a Hulu application but, however big Hulu is, it's not exactly the biggest one in that market. At least not compared to the likes of YouTube or Netflix.
The latter remains a long-standing desire, but according to a post on the ResetEra forum, the first will be a reality before the end of the week. A very simple screenshot of an entry for a YouTube application was shown, including a note that will arrive on Thursday, November 8.
With something as simple as this, it is not entirely possible that the image is a hoax designed to make Switch owners break out. But, again, it is something that is expected to happen sooner or later. All we can hope for is to happen sooner.
