Earlier this year, Atlus mocked that a new Shin Megami Tensei game was being developed for Nintendo Switch. Last month, he revealed it as the next main entry in the series, Shin Megami Tensei V. Now we have learned that the game is officially on its way to the West.
The announcement of SMT V was completely in Japanese. This left open the possibility that it was not located outside Japan, although that would have been a surprise. Atlus has now confirmed what was expected, stating that a Western release is planned for the RPG. He also shared an English version of that same revelation trailer from last month, which you can see below.
The announcement of Atlus simply indicates that the game is reaching the "West". "The publisher has confirmed with GameSpot that it will be launched in North America and Europe." The price and launch date have not yet been announced.
We still do not know much about SMT V, beyond the fact that it will be established in Tokyo Modern, as always (at least partially) is the case of the games in the series. The press release states that "the players will face a new onslaught of demons in the latest installment of the acclaimed series."
No There has so far been no indication that SMT V reaches any platform other than Switch. The recent entries, including Shin Megami Tensei IV and IV: Apocalypse, were only released on 3DS.This system is configured to obtain a new game called Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey, which is an updated version of Strange Journey, early next year.
