Nintendo Character Star in Godzilla vs Kong Mash-Up

Publicity is too much for promotion Godzilla vs Kang Following the release of the film’s first trailer, and a Nintendo fan have taken the opportunity to resume an upcoming fight with a pair of company characters. Artist @ TinaFate1 on Twitter shared an amazing match-up between a different dinosaur and monkey: Bowser and Donkey Kong! The characters seem to fit quite well for the two demons, although it seems unlikely that their conflict will cause slightly less destruction than the fight between Kong and Godzilla. This is because instead of one city, the background of this Titanic fiasco is the Battlefield stage of the Super Smash Bros. franchise!

The decision to use Donkey Kong in this role is very appropriate, considering the history between the two characters. King Kong films had a major influence on the development of Shigeru Miyamoto’s origins donkey Kong Arcade game. The game received a significant amount of success, prompting MCA Universal to bring a lawsuit against Nintendo in 1984. However, Nintendo was successfully able to prove that the King Kong character actually existed in the public domain, and the company won the lawsuit, as a result.

Since those early days, Donkey Kong has deviated considerably from its King Kong-inspired roots, while being one of Nintendo’s biggest characters. Despite Mario starting as a hardcore-antagonist, the character eventually went on to be a popular hero, starring in the massively popular Donkey Kong Country series. Of course, Bauser played Mario’s biggest enemy. Super Mario Bros. In 1985. Ironically, Bauser’s next role will see a character growing in size like Kaiju. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury. In that game, players will be able to take part in a massive fight between Boeser and a giant version of Mario. Sadly, the site has no Donkey Kong!
