Nick Jonas, Kate McKinnon sing about a binge-worthy cult, Murder Docuseries – Deadline

UPDATED with video: Nick Jonas, Kate McKinnon, Ego Nwodim and others SNL Cast members prove that morbid murder shows and documentaries are good enough to inspire a pop song.

“Murder show, murder show / I’m going to watch a murder show / Netflix, Showtime, HBO and Dateline / I’m going to watch a murder show,” the women sang Saturday night.

The cast members paid tribute to a number of titles featured on streaming and premium platforms, including Mommy dead and dear Y Crime scene: The disappearance at the Hotel Cecil.

Chloe Fineman, Melissa Villasenor and their fellow stars say they can easily watch dark shows to take care of themselves while doing housework. She sings about watching a series about “murders in the Bahamas while folding pajamas” while McKinnon reflects on watching a series of crimes while talking on FaceTim with his mother.

From loungewear in their living rooms to red latex suits on a red stage, the cast members make haunting murders sound nice and hilarious.

But as the women revel in his “me time” murder, Jonas enters the scene to remind them that there is more to murder mysteries.

“Have you heard of cult shows, cult shows,” he sings. “Sex cults, death cults”.
