NiceHash has been hacked and its Bitcoin wallet has been emptied.
The service stated that there was a security breach involving the NiceHash website, which resulted in its compromised system payment and its Bitcoin wallet being emptied.
CoinDesk reported that the NiceHash wallet contained 4,736 BTC ̵
"We are currently investigating the nature of the incident and, as a result, we are stopping all operations for the next 24 hours," said NiceHash.
"We are totally committed to restoring the NiceHash service with the highest security measures at the first opportunity".
NiceHash allows owners of crypto mining equipment to sell their hash power to a market, which sees them earn Bitcoin at regular intervals.
As Bitcoin payments from miners are made regularly, only current amounts owed by NiceHash to miners can be affected by hacking.
