New support group for Alzheimer's caregivers in Greenville



DARKE COUNTY –

Family members caring for their loved ones with Alzheimer's or Dementia now have a new resource in Darke County.

The Miami Valley Alzheimer's Association Chapter has initiated a local support group for people with Alzheimer's disease dedicated to caregivers, according to a statement.

The group meets the third Wednesday of each month starting at 3 p.m. at 4:30 p.m. in Brethren Retirement Community, 750 Chestnut Street. The next session will be on Wednesday, November 21.

"Our caregiver support groups are meetings where the loved ones of people with dementia can go to get emotional support, suggestions and ideas from other people who are walking a similar path. At the Alzheimer's Association, we want caregivers to know that they do not have to face this disease alone, "said Rebecca Hall, Director of Care and Support for the Alzheimer's Association.
