An e mail rip-off that seems to be focusing on Netflix clients is floating round, and here is what you might want to find out about it.

The rip-off, first printed by the Australian tech weblog MailGuard, calls the rip-off “relatively well-designed” with the scammers taking the template of Netflix and mimicking it completely. It tells the shopper that their accounts have been suspended and that you’ve 48 hours to reset their membership.

That would smash loads of Netflix and chill clbades – nevertheless it’s a rip-off, so keep vigilant.

“With the detailed data the fake website form asks for: address; credit card details; driver’s license; mother’s maiden name; etc,” MailGuard wrote on Nov. three. “The scammers could potentially execute an identity theft and gain access to the victim’s bank accounts as well as their credit cards.”

According to Statistica, there have been 109.25 million Netflix subscribers worldwide within the third quarter of 2017.

The pretend e mail sends you to a pretend WordPress web site that the shopper enters their data in.

Netflix addresses a variety of recommendations and FAQs to guard your account safety. You can discover it right here.

“We know you care about the security of your Netflix account. So do we,” the streaming service says on their web site. “Whether you received an email from us encouraging you to change your pbadword or you’ve noticed suspicious activity, here are our top recommendations for keeping your account and personal information safe.”
