An FBI spokesman confirmed to Fox News that the bureau was conducting court-authorized law enforcement activity in Harris’ neighborhood. USA Today reported on Monday that the Feders were investigating Harris in order to appeal to minors sexually explicit photos and sex appeals.
A lawsuit was filed Monday in Texas against Harris and three cheer organizations stating that the boys’ mother reported Harris to the FBI last month. The boys’ mother told USA Today that the two boys talked to the FBI.
The FBI said in a statement provided to the Associated Press that the policy could prevent the agency from “commenting on the existence or nullification of any investigation that may have occurred.”
The 21-year-old Harris was a breakout star of Netflix’s documentary series “Cheer”, which followed the cheerleading team from Navarro College in Corsicana, Texas, as they sought the national title.
