An incredible discovery outside the Milky Way!
Astronomers using data from the Chandra X-ray Observatory of NASA and the European Southern Observatory, a very large telescope found this neutron star.
It is the first of its kind outside the Milky Way, and is about 200,000 light years from Earth.
Neutron stars are ultra-dense cores of mbadive stars that collapse and undergo a supernova explosion
. In this case, it is believed that the explosion occurred about 2,000 years ago.
