PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Authorities arrested numerous ATV and dirt bike motorcyclists on Monday afternoon during the illegal "Bikes Up, Guns Down" ride.

The riders started hitting the streets around 2 p.m.

Florida Highway Patrol officers could be seen at the entrances to numerous highways, trying to stop passengers before they hit the freeways.

The pilots were spotted by Sky 10 blowing up wheelies, driving against traffic and disobeying the traffic lights.

Miami-Dade police said they had made six arrests for felonies and an arrest for minor offenses starting at 3 p.m. Monday. The police seized 53 ATV / dirt bike / motorcycles in that same period of time.

Hollywood police said before 4:30 p.m., 5 people had been arrested and 20 vehicles were confiscated.

Shortly after, Hollywood police said a stolen trailer had been seized from an Airbnb in the 1400 block of Lee Street, as well as nine ATVs and a Rolls Royce.

Meanwhile, Local 10 News journalist Carlos Suarez was on Sheridan Street, just west of US Route 1. UU., Since three people were arrested.

The two men and a woman were handcuffed and seen sitting on the sidewalk before officers from the Broward Sheriff's Office took them to jail.

"Those are registered – sure, I have everything, I have paperwork," said one man.

Deputies said the woman who was arrested is a New York probation officer.

"Most of these people are from out of town, if not from out of state," said BSO detective Donnard Huneke. "One of the detainees was from Jacksonville, another from Kissimmee, and those two are from the New York City area, the Bronx in particular, the arrested woman has been identified as a probation officer in New York City."

The two people from New York told the deputies that although they were riding dirt bikes on the road, they were not part of Bikes Up, Guns Down.

At 4 p.m., the officers arrested five people and towed seven vehicles.
