A student and an employee at a private school in Montgomery County, Maryland, tested positive for coronovirus this week.

Archdioc of Washington spokesman Paula Gwynn Grant told WTOP that a second-grade student at Holy Redeemer Catholic School in Kensington tested positive for COVID-19 on Thursday after showing mild symptoms on Tuesday.

Grant said it happened after an employee had tested positive in the first week.

The school community was updated by the Principal of the Holy Redeemer that the student is now symptom-free and healthy, according to Grant, but class and staff are set aside based on guidance from the Montgomery County Health Department.

As a result, Holy Reader students have been learning virtual since last week this week and will do so until September 18th.
