Montana COVID-19 Report (Sunday, October 25)


There were 746 new cases and 3 new deaths on Sunday on the Montana Response COVID-19 tracking map.

On July 15, Governor Steve Bullock announced a statewide directive requiring face coverings / masks in Montana. This directive applies to counties that have four or more active cases of COVID-19. CDC: The Federal Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released data last month that emphasize that people with contributing or underlying medical conditions are at a much higher risk of dying from COVID-19. According to the CDC, an estimated 94% of all COVID-related deaths in the nation were those that contributed to medical conditions and illnesses. The CDC report stated: “For 6% of deaths, COVID-19 was reported to be the sole cause. For deaths from conditions or causes other than COVID-19, there were 2.6 additional conditions or causes per death on average.” The report states that the most common underlying medical conditions that contribute to COVID-related deaths include respiratory diseases such as pneumonia, asthma, and COPD; diabetes; Hypertensive disease; And heart disease.
