Minutes after the North Carolina couple died due to coronovirus

A North Carolina couple passed moments apart from the coronovirus, as they held each other’s hands.

Johnny Lee Peoples, 67, and his wife Kathy Darlene Peoples, 65, both died of the virus after a month-long battle with an infection on Sept 2 at a Salsbury hospital, the people reported.

As their time expired, employees at Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center moved the couple to the same room so they could say goodbye to each other, their son Shane Peoples told WBTV.

“Everything went south, everything just went bad,” he said. “The next day they put them in the same room, the same ICU room, they put their hands together, the nurses gathered and they passed each other within four minutes.”

The couple had been 50 years and married for 48 years. Shane is now struggling with the defeat of both parents at once. His last rites were performed on Wednesday following social distance guidelines with the attendees.

“It was mainly fever and loss of taste,” Peeples said, explaining his parents’ early symptoms. “My father started showing symptoms two days later. About two weeks later both were placed in the ICU. ”

Shane allegedly wrote a heartfelt Facebook post earlier in the week, stating, “My parents were not just a blessing to me, my brother, my sister, our soul mate and our children.” He was a blessing to everyone who met him. My mother had the most beautiful soul to meet you. ”

He stressed on WBTV that the virus should be taken seriously and urged readers on Facebook to wash their hands, practice social distance, and wear masks.

“It’s not a joke. It’s not a hoax,” people said. “I’m not [want] To hurt someone else. I not [want] Someone to feel the grief we are feeling. ”
