Meet the box, a permanent and safe alternative to cardboard packaging that can be reused for 1000 times!

The year of the epidemic has changed the way people use e-commerce – online shopping figures have spurred new pinnacles, meaning the abundance of packaging waste in landfills is being eliminated. Cardboard has its own merits as a packaging material, but the amount of its waste is inseparable. Thankfully, there is a Berlin-based brand dubbing Livingpacket, which has envisioned a simple solution to reduce shipping-related waste.

The company has designed an alternative to cardboard box and is simply called ‘The Box’. Four years in development, it was revealed again at CES 2021 with some improvements. Box is a permanent alternative to the e-commerce industry and can reportedly be used up to 1000 times. In contrast, cardboard boxes have the same life from the point of packaging to the point of delivery. If the municipality in place of distribution iteration, cardboard gets a new lease of life; Otherwise it becomes useless and injures the environment. Apart from the stability aspect, the neatly designed ‘box’ is roughly equivalent to two shoe boxes and can be used to ship a large number of items. Interestingly, the box can also bend flat to ship important documents or laptops. Traditionally sending an important paper by mail / courier is not at all safe – you can’t be sure how to handle it on the way – and you have to rely on the logistics company’s tracking mechanism to find out How far your parcel has reached?

The box will revolutionize when it is mass produced towards May this year. The inventive box is embedded with GPS that allows the sender / receiver to track the package from point A to B and move between real-time using a dedicated app on a smart device everywhere. Simply place the item inside the box, close it, enter the destination, and the onboard e-ink display will double as a traditional print label to update its travel status.

Box of LivingPackets is currently in beta testing with partner companies, including e-commerce stores, logistics, and even insurance companies. The box has temperature and shock sensors to ensure that the commodity in the package is safe – and not just because it is trackable – also safe in transit. In the future there is also a provision to include a camera inside, which will allow people to monitor the product being shipped within the box packaging.

Since this packaging solution seems too good to be perfect, most of us would count it to be expensive and only for the elite. Although the eco-friendly and innovative box is very affordable, in fact, the company wants to keep costs down as traditional cardboard packaging. At the end of the life cycle, the box will be repaired and revived “to use 1000 times extra”. There is a holding mechanism within the box, proposing to eliminate 90 percent carbon dioxide emissions, meaning that not only the cardboard has been replaced, the use of air-filled bubble plastic, styrofoam, etc. products inside the packaging box Is done to secure. Also abolished. Now she’s fab – I can’t wait to see this new package land at my house one morning!
