If you've played the Insomniac Spider-Man video game and are looking forward to more of that incarnation of Peter Parker, the new Spider-Man series from Marvel Comics will be your thing. A new miniseries called Spider-Man: Velocity will continue where the game stopped and reveal the secrets of the Spider-Man Velocity suit.

As revealed by Marvel.com, Spider-Man: Velocity will debut in August, after the conclusion of Spider-Man: City at War (which adapts the game's events). Velocity will again be written by City at War Dennis "Hopeless" Hallum, with art by Emilio Laiso (Star Wars: Doctor Aphra) and skan covers.

The speed will recover after the events of the game, while Peter continues to struggle to juggle his personal and superhero lives. A new conflict arises when Spider-Man fights the supervillain known as Swarm while trying to protect Mary Jane while launching a new investigation with legendary reporter Ben Urich.

This series will also detail the origin of the Velocity suit, exploring why Peter designed this elegant and advanced costume and what role he plays in his ongoing battle to defend New York.

The Velocity suit was designed by artist Adi Granov and was one of several original costumes that appeared in the PS4 game. For more information on Spidey's extensive wardrobe, here is our breakdown of the 28 costumes originally included in the game (although some additions have been made since then):

Spider-Man: Velocity will have six editions and will begin in August 2019.
