Trailer frenzyA special place to find the latest trailers for movies and TV shows you crave.

Imagine if you parents were famous superheroes… and then it was time to move on the family business. That is the premise of Jupiter’s legacy, a new Netflix series that just released an action-packed first trailer today.

Created by Steven S. DeKnight (Smallville, Daredevil) and based on the comic book series by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely (nice nod on the side of the truck), Jupiter’s legacy tells the story of “the world’s first generation of superheroes” as they seek to lead their children into the ranks of saving the world. But living up to parental expectations is hard enough to no child, much less the children of famous superheroes.

Plus, as this first trailer makes clear, there is an added pressure of everyone seeing them trying to put on some pretty giant shoes, and the fact that those kids are all a little bit resentful of their parents for being MIA because of all that hero stuff growing up.

Overall, the tone here seems pretty serious, despite the colorful outfits, explosive special effects, and last-minute hairstyle from star Josh Duhamel, the “aging Fabio.” (In addition, we already have a current series that delves into everything “OMG my dad is a superhero“Situation, but this seems a bit more expansive than Superman and Lois Far away.)

Jupiter’s legacy– Which also stars Ben Daniels, Leslie Bibb, Elena Kampouris, Andrew Horton, Mike Wade, Matt Lanter and Ian Quinlan – hits Netflix May 7.
