Mariah Carey participates in the Viral Bottle Cap challenge

Every once in a while, a ridiculous Internet challenge goes viral, whether it's jumping out of a car and dancing a Drake song (In My Feelings Challenge 2018) or posing as statues (Mannequin Challenge 2016). The most recent is the Challenge of the Bottle Cap, which requires the participant to unscrew the cap of the bottle through the circular kick. While celebrities such as Jason Statham and John Mayer have mastered the challenge with their impressive skill to kick the bottle, there is now a real winner, and that is Mariah Carey.

In a video posted on her Twitter account, Carey is seen wearing a shiny black bodycon dress, establishing a karate stance. Instead of removing her cap, she puts her finger on Mariah's typical style and releases one of her high notes. The bottle cap flies far and far, very well. Almost like a butterfly.

A job well done, if you ask me, although the chancla arrived in a close second.

Carey is the latest celebrity to participate in the challenge after Mayer and Statham, ahem, have released it. According to the New York TimesThe challenge seems to have been initiated by the Kazakh Taekwondo champion, Farabi Davletchin, who asked several celebrities to join.

Soon they were followed by Diplo, Ellie Goulding and Whitney Cummings, as well as Ryan Reynolds and Blake Shelton, who took the challenge as an opportunity to promote his alcohol brands.

While Carey has won this battle, I'd like to see some bottle cap kicks more full of stars. Can Dolly Parton kick one of her high heels in an empty bottle of Malbec? Or Marianne Williamson? (With his mind.) Maybe some of the Internet fans can join. Can we see the elongated stems of Jeff Goldblum in action? What about Keanu Reeves? He is trained in martial arts, after all. We're going to ask Jake Gyllenhaal to give him a turn. Surely he has not completely finished with his Spider-Man: away from home promotion.

Whoever is brave enough to continue this challenge, I wish you the best of luck by defeating Mariah.
