Man killed after being struck by Amtrak practice in South Richmond


RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — Richmond police are on the scene after a southbound Amtrak practice struck and killed a person in South Richmond.

It occurred between Broad Rock Road and Hull Street. Police discovered the physique at round 5:50 p.m.

The Amtrak practice was stopped with pbadengers on board. The practice is in the course of Broad Rock Road, and visitors is being diverted.

Amtrak officers inform 8News it was an auto practice going from Lorton, Virginia to Sanford, Florida. Amtrak will work with Richmond Police to find out who will proceed the investigation.

Amtrak says there have been no accidents to any crew or pbadengers. Two different trains have been delayed thus far due to the crash.

The practice received transferring once more round eight:45 p.m. It’s working below a 2 hour and 45 minute delay.

Police say there’s nothing suspicious about this dying.
