Authorities said a 35-year-old man was arrested in New York City on Saturday for “Honey, I Shrink the Kids” actor Rick Mornis.
The suspected Marquis Ventura was spotted by transit officers in the metro system near 72nd Street and Broadway, a few blocks from where it occurred on October 1 in Central Park West near 70th Street, Sgt. Anwar Ismail said.
Police did not identify the victim as Moranis, but cited the attack outside the actor’s Upper West Side building. Morni was punched by a man in an “I Love NY” sweatshirt and was attacked on security video.
The 67-year-old Moranis hit the ground after hitting the punch and later took himself to the hospital. It was not revealed that the actor did nothing to provoke his attacker.
At the time, a spokesman for Moranis confirmed that he was the victim of the attack. Troy Bailey said he was fine but grateful for everyone’s thoughts and wishes after the attack went public.
Police said Ventura was apprehended and later arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault, including an allegation that he “intended to inflict serious bodily injury to another person.”
Further details about the suspect, in which he has hired a lawyer, were not immediately known.
