She’s Back: Mama June Shannon has been through rough times recently, but she’s ready to get her life back in the new trailer for her upcoming WE TV series, Mama June: Road to Redemption, in an exclusive clip shared with People.

In the clip, Mama June looks better than in years with her hair combed and her broken and missing teeth fixed with veneers.

However, despite his outward appearance, his family life continues to be shaken by his drug addiction and arrest.

“I have no idea who my mother is anymore,” says June’s daughter, Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Shannon Efird, 21.

Pumpkin has been taking care of his own family, as well as his 15-year-old sister Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson. June has four daughters, from three different parents, in addition to Lauryn, and Alana has two older girls, Anna, 26, Jessica, 24.

In the teaser, Pumpkin breaks down under the weight that has been placed on her shoulders due to her mother’s problems and Alana is crying admitting that she cries herself to sleep most of the time.

“I have to continually show Pumpkin that I have changed,” Mama June tells the camera, adding to Marriage Boot Camp’s Dr. Ish Major that “he deserves a second chance.”

Now sober, Mama June will still have to deal with some very real consequences of her recent actions, which could include time behind bars on drug charges.

She admits in the video: ‘I may go to jail and never see my children again. I am very afraid ”.

Mama June: Road to Redemption will be the follow-up to Mama June: Family Crisis of 2020, which recounted her $ 2.5K-a-day drug addiction, her arrest, and the beginning of her recovery.

A year ago, June left a drug treatment center after being arrested for using crack, but subsequently completed a program.

Her downward spiral began in 2019 alongside her boyfriend Geno Doak, who, according to June, is now sober as well.

In March of that year, the couple were arrested together for drug possession in Alabama.

Police were called to a gas station over an apparent domestic dispute between the two, but when officers searched the car, they allegedly found crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia. Doak also faces a domestic violence charge.

The court case has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
