Mackenzie Davis is in talks to join Kristen Stewart in the romantic bad comedy of TriStar The happiest season.
The film focuses on a young woman whose plan to propose to her girlfriend during her family's annual holiday party is disrupted when she discovers that her partner has not yet spoken to her conservative parents.
The study had no comments on Mackenzie's casting, but The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Davis and Stewart will play the romantic protagonists of the film.
The actress-turned-director, Clea Duvall, will make her debut as a studio director in the feature film, which she co-wrote with Mary Holland. The project will be produced by Marty Bowen, Isaac Klausner and Jaclyn Huntling of Temple Hill. Hannah Minghella and Shary Shirazi will oversee the project for TriStar.
Davis exploded in the AMC series Stop and catch fire, going on to book roles in big budget studio movies like The Martian Y Blade Runner 2049. She has also been chosen to star in the upcoming Tim Miller movie. Terminator Restart, joining the franchise stars Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
