Lizzo’s mother breaks into happy tears when the pop star surprises her with a new car for Christmas


This is one of the perks of being a wildly successful pop star.

On Sunday, five days before Santa’s arrival, Lizzo surprised his mother, Sherry Johnson-Jefferson, and gave him a new car over Christmas.

The 32-year-old singer-musician shared a moment-long video sharing the emotional gift she shared on Instagram, in which her mother shed tears of great joy at her daughter’s generosity.

Family Matters: The rapper and flutist said that she is making sure to spoil her mother with her success because she could not do it with her father.

The video begins with Johnson-Jefferson closing his eyes outside the house, as several family members looked on in anticipation.

‘Well, Merry Christmas Mom – open your eyes,’ Lizzo (born Melissa Vivian Jefferson) said with excitement from behind the camera as if directing her mom to turn to her left.

With her hands clasped together, her mother opened her eyes and wept looking at her new black Audi which was completed with a red bow above the front hood.

Lizzo’s father, Michael Jefferson, died in 2010 when he was a student at the University of Houston on a music scholarship. His death threw him into a deep depression.

‘I kind of really gave up,’ she confessed in an interview Cbs this morning In January.

‘I was depressed. I didn’t have a purpose, just like I didn’t feel like I had a purpose to be a musician or anything. So it was said, “Oh, can I sleep on your couch,” and finally, I became really guilt-ridden. So I had this car. It was a Subaru. ‘

He added, ‘That was my house. I spent Thanksgiving in that car, and I remember myself crying to sleep. ‘
