Lindsay Lohan made a rare appearance on the red carpet with her mother, Dina Lohan, Wednesday night on the vacation portion of The Daily Mail in New York City. The star talked about everything from living in Dubai to wanting a sequel to "Mean Girls".
"Mean Girls 2 & # 39; the movie: this is the importance," Lohan told E! News. "We need Rachel McAdams, we need the whole cast, I'd love to do it again, we had a lot of fun doing it, Mark Waters is a great director, Tina Fey is an amazing writer, Paramount was great to work with, everyone had a great time" A direct DVD sequel to the iconic movie came out in 2011, but a real sequel to the original cast has not yet come to fruition. Although "Mean Girls" has not yet had its second appearance on the big screen, fans of the original movie can still get their dose on Broadway.
Tina Fey, the writer and producer of the film, decided to adapt her iconic film for the stage. "Mean Girls", the musical is currently previewed in Washington, D.C., and will hit Broadway in April. But Lohan admitted E! News that I was less informed about the musical inspired by the film.
"I really do not know much about it," he said. "I heard from a friend yesterday, we'll see!"
Since the movie's success in 2004, Paramount has wanted Fey's help to produce a sequel. The original film grossed $ 130 million at the global box office and ignited a large following of cult followers, which is still alive and well today.
But until "Mean Girls 2" happens, if it happens, Lohan told E! The news that she wants wants to focus on music again. Lohan had several singles at the beginning of the millennium, but the actress hopes to start a new musical career with the ambition to work with artists like Ed Sheeran and Eminem.
"I love writing, the thing is that, with me, when I'm acting, I always have my headphones on, because that really helps me get the character that I'm going to play, so [music] always played a very important role in my life, "said Lohan. "Music can make you feel anything"
The "Freaky Friday" actress, who recently moved to Dubai, later told Entertainment Tonight that she returned to New York for the holidays, but does not plan to return to the U.S. coming soon.
"I love living in New York, but I love the serenity and peace I find living in the Middle East because there are no cameras in Dubai and I can really focus on what I want to do in life," she said. "I do not always have to be scrutinized every second, I can have a private life and have a public life, but when I choose to do it, I think that's really important."
But while you're in the United States, plan to do as much as you can.
"I'm here in New York, so Tina Fey will better hide from me or I'll find her and Lorne Michaels, I know where her desk is," joked Lohan .
