Niantic is launching a new type of event in Pokemon Go this weekend. On Saturday, January 19, the studio will hold the first Limited Research event, which will include special Field Investigation tasks, and the opportunity to catch a new Bright Pokémon, for a limited time.
Like the monthly Pokemon Go community days, the Limited Research event will only last three hours. During that time window, you can receive special limited research badignments when you rotate the Photo Disc in a PokeStop. These tasks can be completed at any time after you have obtained them, but they will only be distributed during the hours of the event, and you will only get one of each PokeStop you visit.
Each limited research task will culminate in an encounter with Feebas, the first form of the majestic Milotic aquatic Pokémon. In addition, Niantic says that you will have the opportunity to meet a Shiny Feebas, so this will be the first time that this Shiny in particular will be available in the game. You can find the event hours for each region below.
In addition to the limited research event, Niantic is celebrating a great Hoenn celebration in Pokemon Go right now. Until January 29, the Gen 3 Pokémon will appear much more frequently in nature. In addition, you will have the opportunity to capture brilliant variants of Zigzagoon and Taillow, while any Shroomish that evolve towards Breloom will learn the Grbad Knot movement.
The legendary Gen 3 Groudon and Kyogre have also returned as part of the Hoenn celebration, giving them another chance to add them to their collection. There are also new field research tasks that revolve around the Pokémon Gen 3, and there are new avatar elements based on the Aqua Team and the Magma Team, the Ruby and Sapphire villains, available in Style Shop.
