Dominion Energy officials said thousands of people from Northern Virginia remained without electricity for hours due to a circuit issue on Friday evening.
The power and energy company reported about 10,000 people without power in Alexandria, while Arlington experienced more than 3,500 outages after 8 p.m.
Spokeswoman Peggy Fox said one is guilty of a circuit outage at the substation. She told WTOP that Dominion Energy crews are working to restore power as soon as possible.

The affected areas include Rosemont, Potomac, Potomac Yard and Crystal City.
Restoration time is estimated to be between 10 am Friday to Saturday.
