Latvian judo wrestler Yevgeny Borodavko won a bronze medal in the European Cup on Sunday in Rome.
Borodavko, who started in the weight category of up to 100 kilograms, was cleared in the first round, while Azerbaijani Sanan Ahmadov won the second.
In the third round, or the final of a subgroup, the Latvian judge beat Oto Imalu, a semifinal in which he recognized the superiority of the Russian athlete Armands Adamjan.
Then, in the bronze match, Borodavko beat the Dutch Ferdinand Ansahu, who had won the first round of the satisfaction tournament.
Meanwhile, in the weight category of up to 81 kilograms, Nikita Duinov, who was free in the first round, started in the second round, won the Israeli Nauru Matavvalov, and in the third round, made a concession to the Russian Abas Azizov.
