Apple is the third Apple Store in Singapore after locations in Marina Bay Sands, Orchard Road and Jewel Changi Airport. You can learn more about the importance of the project in Singapore and the 40-year history in Singapore with our illustrated guide.

114 Glass Curved Glass Wrap is Apple’s only circular store. The dome’s streamlined panels are horizontally curved, looking structurally and visually distinct and commonly found in dome architecture. Apple Marina Bay Sands is the first Apple store to sit on the water shining like a traditional Mid-Autumn Festival lantern. First people do not stop there.

The layout of the store is divided between three distinct areas. The first is an open-air, inclined boardwalk that rises from the shore and is marked with a small Apple signpost. The boardwalk connects to the dome, where 10 radii and 10 trees around the perimeter are arranged in a unique radial pattern. The tables are lit by custom lamps found in only a handful of other Apple Store locations around the world. A stage, video wall, and leather bench for the future stand in front of the entrance to the Apple session today.

Look above the forum and you will see the roof of the dome, which is designed to minimize the effects of Singapore’s tropical climate. A series of thick baffles extend from the glass and surround the dome as it moves towards the oculus, reflecting heat and harsh sunlight. The dome is fully supported by 10 narrow vertical mullions.

A curved staircase, cylindrical lift, and for the first time in the Apple Store, a set of escalators descend underwater. The third area of the store is a subaquatic tunnel and boardroom that connects to The Shops at Marina Bay Sands. Customers are guided through the tunnel by a row of six tables and both walls display the long avenue. The stone walls form the sweeping curve at the entrance, opening up a panoramic view of the mall.

Apple Marina Bay Sands is Apple’s 512th store, but makes some comparisons to any design before it. Working with architect Foster + Partners, Apple has created a unique location for Singapore’s waterfront environment and instantly recognizable horizons. Like every Apple Store location, the new location will open with all the health and safety measures customers expect.
