LOS ANGELES (AP) – Lady Gaga’s two French bulldogs, who were robbed by thieves who shot and injured her walker, were recovered unharmed Friday, Los Angeles police said.
A woman brought the dogs to the LAPD Olympic Community Police Station, just northwest of downtown, around 6 p.m., said Capt.Jonathan Tippet, commander-in-chief of the elite robbery and homicides from the department.
Lady Gaga’s rep and detectives went to the station and confirmed it was the dogs, Tippet said.
The singer is currently in Rome to shoot a movie.
The woman who left the dogs appears “not involved in and not associated” with the attack Wednesday night, Tippet said.
In a tweet late Friday, Los Angeles police said the woman had found the dogs “and approached Lady Gaga’s staff to return them.”
Their identity and where the dogs were found will not be released for their safety and due to the ongoing investigation, the LAPD said.
The dog walker, Ryan Fischer, was shot once while walking three of the singer’s dogs in Hollywood. The video showed a white sedan approaching and two men jumping. They fought the dog walker before one drew a gun and fired a single shot before running off with two of the dogs. The third escaped and has since met with Lady Gaga’s representatives.
The dog walker can be heard in the video saying that he had been shot in the chest. He is expected to survive his injuries, Tippet said.
“I still love you Ryan Fischer, you risked your life to fight for our family. You are always a hero, ”Lady Gaga said in an Instagram post.
Lady Gaga repeated her offer of a $ 500,000 reward on Friday for the return of her dogs, whose names are Koji and Gustav, without asking questions. Tippet said that since the police did not participate in the reward, he did not know if the woman would receive it.
