Shortly after suffering consecutive losses for the first time in his career, Kevin Lee approached his fans with a grim message.
"The Motown Phenom" fell to Rafael Dos Anjos in the presentation of the fourth round in the UFC Rochester main event on Saturday after a competitive game. By sharing his thoughts on the fight, Lee seemed to be looking for the words to explain what went wrong in his first UFC fight at 170 pounds.
"I do not know what happened that night," Lee said. "I thought I did everything right before this fight, I tried to eliminate every little distraction, everything that was not good for me, I swear I felt like something, everything was falling into place and he was talking to me before I left. It was enough.
"This shit will sometimes be like, maximum and minimum lows, this shit will really make you question what you believe in. But I do not know, I've been through a lot of crap in my life." This really is not going to be crap. "
Lee (17-5), who has once faced the interim UFC title, has lost three of his last four fights.
