Kershaw bounces with 7 dominant, Muncy dongs, Rios, Betts key offense – Dodgers Digest

After a stinking Opening Day at Coors Field, the Dodgers entered tonight’s game on a four-game winning streak. I guess they weren’t looking forward to that coming to an end as they took their power to an early advantage and rode Clayton kershaw to keep it in a 5-1 win over Athletics.

After struggling in his season debut, Clayton Kershaw looked to bounce back against the Athletics, but got off to a rocky start in the 1st after delivering back-to-back doubles to Jed lowrie and Ramon Laureano to make it 1-0.

Chris bassitt play started for the Athletics and the bats looked comfortable against him early. After wasting a scoring opportunity in the 1st. Edwin Rios led second with a single and Gavin lux followed with a walk, then Austin barnes he tied the game with a double to make it 1-1.

The Dodgers released Bassitt after that, but came back in the 3rd. Justin turner I started things off with a single and then Max muncy he lined up a ball on the wall to the right for his first home run of the year, a two-run shot to give the Dodgers the lead. Later in the inning, with one out, Edwin Ríos continued the dong parade adding his own first of the year to make it 4-1.

Meanwhile, Kershaw bounced back from the rocky start, adjusting like he always does. After the run-scoring double, Kershaw retired 20 of the next 22 batters, allowing just one single and one double afterward.

While he had just six puffs in his Opening Day opener, he racked up a whopping 21 against the Athletics. His finish line finished impressive: 7 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 8 K, 91 Pitches.

Blake treinen He came in as the coach and looked extremely sharp. Despite walking a highly questionable five-pitch, he didn’t give up anything else and had two strikeouts in a scoreless eighth.

While the bats didn’t do much after the 3rd, but Mookie betts Dong also took the lead with a solo shot in the ninth to make it 5-1.

Treinen was allowed to start the ninth for some reason and gave up a single against the inning. Then Kenley jansen then he was handed the ball after his valiant five-out save at Colorado, and he continued his strong start to the season, walking one but keeping a scoreless inning to finish it.
