Kelly Clarkson recalls the days of ‘American Idol’: ‘People really meant a lot to us’


Kelly Clarkson may be a fairly successful recording artist, but that doesn’t mean she was always easy.

During Thursday’s episode of her popular Day Time TV talk show, the 38-year-old star talked about making headlines through “American Idol” in 2002, when she was cast in a chat with actress Jennifer Love Hurtitt The inaugural winner was crowned.

The singer recalled meeting Hewitt at the age of 41, when Clarkson was first on the scene with some of his fellow contestants.
