Kathy Lee Gifford described Regis Philbin as ‘protected’ after her husband Frank was caught cheating on a married flight attendant.

How long she was ‘protected’ by co-host and friend Regis Philbin during her time of marriage to husband Frank Gifford.

Frank, who died in 2015 at the age of 84, was caught cheating Kathy in 1997 with a married flight attendant, which made the couple’s marriage seriously strained.

Thankfully, Kathy had her friend Regis to lean on, who supported her throughout the scandal.

Looking at the Affair in 2017, Kathy said on Today: ‘It takes a lifetime to build and believe that kind of friendship and history together, and it takes a silly decision to destroy it.’

‘Sometimes you run out of time to recreate it. I was grateful that we could. ‘

Kathy said that she considered leaving her husband.

Now Kathy is making yet another attempt in her life with the death of Regis, who died of myocardial infarction due to coronary artery disease at the age of 88 last week.
