Kansas City enters playoffs as major Super Bowl favorites; Tampa Bay Buccaneers biggest liability for some sportsbooks

On New Year’s Day, bookie William Hill US placed a six-digit wager on the heads of the Kansas City to win the Super Bowl, but the defending champions are not the biggest concern in the playbook to be included in the playoffs.

The worst case scenario for many bookies is that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are winning the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs are unanimous Super Bowl favorites, listed at +190 in the Kaiser Sportsbook by William Hill. The Green Bay Packers are next at +450, followed by the Buffalo Bills (+700) and the New Orleans Saints (+750). The Buccaneers are +1,000.

“Buccaneer winning the Super Bowl 100% would be the worst situation for us,” Nick Bogdanovich, director of trading for William Hill US, said in a post on the bookmaker’s website. “We are in very good shape with most teams, but the Bucs are a very big loser.”

The Westgate Las Vegas Superbook and BetMGM also reported significant liabilities on the Buccaneers, much of it accumulated prior to the season, when Tampa Bay added Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.

Recently there has also been interest in the Buccaneers. William Hill reported placing a $ 40,000 bet on the Buccaneers to win the Super Bowl 12–1 on Saturday. As of Wednesday morning, this is the second-largest Super Bowl Future bet ever placed with a bookie, with only $ 115,000 in bets on the heads placed on Friday in Nevada.

Heads have attracted the most stakes and the most money in William Hill’s Super Bowl futures market. The Packers have the second most Super Bowl bets, followed by the Buccaneers, Seahawks and Pittsburgh Steelers.

At William Hill, speculators have been charged interest on some Super Bowl long shots, including a $ 10,000 wager on the Indianapolis Colts at 45-1 and a $ 125-1 wager in Washington.

“I had a customer ring [on Tuesday]Asking for a condition that would make Cleveland the worst case scenario, “Jason Scott, director of BetzMM Trading, told ESPN.” But you get a lot of tire kicks in this business. Is that really another story. He was seeking $ 60,000 in 50-1 to win $ 3 million. “
