It may not be Father's Day, but Justin Bieber's father is in his mind.
The 23-year-old sent Jeremy Bieber, an emotional message on Instagram, on Tuesday, along with a photo of the father-son duo taken from behind.
"I love to keep meeting my father," wrote the pop star. "I love working hard to get to the good things."
Justin continues, "It's worth fighting for relationships especially with the family! I love you forever and always dad!"
Justin's relationship with Jeremy, 42, has had its ups and downs. As the singer has detailed in previous interviews, Jeremy was only 18 when Pattie Mallette, then 17, gave birth to Justin in 1994. The couple never married, and separated shortly after Justin arrived, according to a November 2015 poster interview.
Jeremy "was not in a place where I could raise a child," Justin told Billboard noting that his father left "for a year" when he was 4 years old, and Mama Mallette was his principal carer.
"I remember that my mother said:" If you are going to be here, you have to be here. "There is a misconception that he is this useless father, but he has been in my life since" Justin said. "I was with him on weekends and Wednesdays."

Next year, in an interview with GQ Justin said that after a fight with his mother in 2014, he was "a lot closer to my father than I am to my mother. " Part of that distance, he said, was physical. The duo reconciled, but Mallette, now 42, lives in Hawaii.
Justin's relationship with his father is not the only one he's focused on lately: he's reunited with his ex-girlfriend, Selena Gomez.
Opening on revived romance to Billboard Gomez said: "I am 25. I am not 18, or 19, or 20." She added, "I appreciate the people that have really impacted my life, so maybe before, I could have been forcing something that was not right, but that does not mean that someone's care is ever gone."
