John Mayer took to Twitter on Wednesday (December 6), thanking the fans for all their love and support one day after he was hospitalized for an emergency appendectomy.
The singer apologized for having to cancel his concert with Dead & Company in New Orleans. In the tweet, he mentions that "we regret not having been able to complete the last dates of the tour".
Thank you all for the good wishes. I had surgery yesterday and woke up to see some incredibly kind and affectionate tweets. I am very sorry I could not finish the last dates of the tour. This band and these shows mean the world to me. I love you all. ⚡️ ♥ ️⚡️

The singer of "Love on the Weekend" still seems to be in good spirits despite the unfortunate circumstances, publishing a selfie mirror on Instagram with the caption "I still have it"
The two remaining shows of the tour have been postponed. Dead & Company was scheduled to play Thursday in Orlando and Friday in Fort Lauderdale.
