Rahim Mostert got what he wanted. The 49ers resumed their deal this week, giving them a signing bonus and incentive that could double their salary to $ 2.875 million in 2020.
But the way it was going about it did not necessarily thrill the 49ers.
Mostert went public in early July with a business request through his agent.
“My response was, ‘What are you doing? Come on now,'” Lynch said this week on KNBR, via Eric Branch San francisco chronicle. “I was not happy.”
Everyone is good now.
Most estimates are probably happy with the agreement, receiving more money a year after signing the three-year extension. There will probably be a swinger among the 49ers who had a breakout season in 2020.
Mostert ran for 772 yards and scored 10 touchdowns in the regular season and added 336 yards with five touchdowns in the postseason.
Lynch said, “Now, I love Rahim and I love his family.” “It’s sometimes frustrating [negotiations]. But I was a player, so I understand that you don’t talk directly to a player. You are talking with an agent.
“And sometimes I think it can cause lost things in communication. What did we finally do [in revising his contract], We have always planned to do, so it is disappointing that had to transpire. But the cooler chiefs had to prevail, and we had to understand that Rahim is a very important player for our team. “
