Joe Moorhead will hire former DC Bob Penn of Penn State in Mississippi State, for reports


Joe Moorhead will bring a former Penn State badistant to the state of Mississippi.

Moorhead, the new head coach of the Bulldogs, will hire former Penn State defensive coordinator Bob Shoop for the same job at Starkville, according to Adam Rittenberg of ESPN. FOX Sports Bruce Feldman also reported that Shoop will join the Moorhead staff.

Sources tell Chris Low that Mississippi State is hiring Bob Shoop as defensive coordinator. Shoop spent the last two years in Tennessee after serving as defensive coordinator at Penn State and Vanderbilt.

– Bruce Feldman (@BruceFeldmanCFB) December 8, 2017 [19659008] Shoop served as defensive coordinator for Penn State for two seasons (2014-2015) on James Franklin's staff before leaving for the same I work in Tennessee. In early 2017, Penn State sued Shoop, saying it owed the school nearly $ 900,000 for failing to comply with the terms of its purchase.

Shoop was never trained on the same Penn State team as Moorhead, who was named Penn State offensive coordinator in 2016, but the pair will join Starkville from the 2018 season. Moorhead also brought in Charles Huff, coordinator from Penn State's special equipment / runners teams, to their Mississippi state personnel.

Moorhead, who has a search for coaches at Fordham, took the job in Mississippi on November 28.
