Jimmy Kimmel provided an update on the son’s pre-existing medical condition in an effort to get people to vote

Jimmy Kimmel is sharing his personal life experiences to encourage people to vote in the upcoming election. The talk show host on Thursday offered an update on his and his wife Mollie McNearney’s 3-year-old son Billy’s health fight. Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Billy was born with a congenital heart condition and had to undergo three heart surgeries after his birth.

Kimmel told her audience, “We want to focus on some things we can’t forget, and that’s health care.” “The majority of this country believes that health insurance should cover Americans from pre-existing conditions.”

Kimel shared a compilation of videos and photos, sharing her son’s story, explaining the need for affordable health care, and to be the subject of discussion at the polls. The emotional clip shows Billy in the NICU, making multiple hospital visits during the three years of his entire life, as well as McNearney’s messages as well as the need for health care to cover pre-existing conditions.

“Families break up while trying to keep their loved ones alive,” she writes. “People die because they cannot afford to live.”

“Moms, don’t forget. Please vote,” another message read before a video of a happy Billy showing that he was living his best life. “We are raising him to fight for the less fortunate children. Americans care for each other. Vote with your heart.”

Kimmel and McNairy also share 6-year-old daughter Jane. The TV personality is also the father of two grown children Kevin and Katie from a previous relationship. He first talked about Billy’s position in his show’s 2017 monologue.

In 2018, Kimmel told ET that her son’s health struggles shifted his outlook.
