Jessica Simpson first opened up about the sexual abuse she experienced as a child at the hands of a family friend in her memoir Open Book released earlier this year.
And the 40-year-old star revealed even more about her experience on Katherine Schwarzenegger’s The Gift of Forgiveness Podcast on Wednesday.
In the episode, Simpson talked about how he confronted his misdemeanor eight years ago and offered forgiveness.

After the encounter she says: ‘I just want to know that I forgive you and I really don’t care about being around you, but I want you to know that I know that between us and me What happened was ‘I am not going to deny this.’
She also expressed sympathy for the abuse her kidnapper had received from the older boy.
Simpson explained, “I went to her and I just said,” “You know what was going on and I know you were being abused,” “because she was being abused by an older man. ”
Adding the older boy: ‘He was always at home, so he never touched me, but he would abuse him and he would come to me and give me stuff and so, in so many ways I felt bad for him and I was letting the abuse happen. ‘

He also suggested that the woman recover and forgive the experiences between them.

In a special clip from DailyMail.com, Jessica revealed that it was her role as a parent that helped her talk about abuse and write about it in the book.

“I was five or six when I started,” Simpson told coach Mike.
“I really wanted to talk about it as a parent because it’s so important to know that you need to keep an eye on some of the closest people in your life,” she continued.

In the open book, Star revealed that she was sexually abused as a child by a family friend when she was six years old and kept it secret from her parents until she was 12 years old.
‘(It happened) when I shared a bed with the daughter of a family friend,’ Jessica wrote. “It would start with a tickle on my back and then go into things that were very uncomfortable.”

She told her parents, Tina and Joe Simpson, six years after the abuse began. The mother-of-three is traveling in a car with her parents on a trip when she tells them what happened to them.
She remembers her mother slapping her father’s arm and saying: ‘I told you something was happening.’
‘Dad kept an eye on the road and didn’t say anything,’ she said. ‘We never stayed at my parents’ friend’s house but we didn’t even talk about what we said.’
