Jessica Chastain replaces Michelle H. Williams as female lead in the upcoming HBO limited series Scenes from a Marriage
A major change has been made to the cards for HBO’s limited series drama Scenes from a Marriage.
Jessica Chastain will replace Michelle Williams, co-starring with Oscar Issac, due to a scheduling conflict with Williams.
Chastain and Issac have a long history together as they were classmates at the prestigious Juliard School in New York City and were the lead actors in the 2014 crime drama film A Most Violent Year.

A Marriage from a Marriage is a adaptation of Swedish miniseries written in 1973 and directed by Ingmar Bergman, starring Liv Ullmann and Erland Josephson.
For the new series, Showtime will make fun of the duties of writer, director and executive producer, Haggai Levy, co-creator and co-producer of the drama series The Affair (2014-2019).
The new version will re-test the original miniseries’ depiction of love, hatred, desire, monotony, marriage and divorce through the lens of a contemporary American couple, played by Chastain and Issac.

Williams reportedly will remain as an executive producer alongside Chastain, Levi, Issac According to Ellenberg, Lars Blomgren, Daniel Bergman, Blair Briar, Amy Herzog, through the media time limit.
The series is co-produced with Media Race and Endeavor Content.
Shooting is expected to begin soon.
