Jay spoke about his infidelity, a personal issue he delved into 4:44 .

"The most difficult thing is to see pain in the face of someone you caused, and then you have to deal with yourself," he said during the interview with executive editor of the New York Times Dean Baquet.

Between 4:44 and Beyoncé Lemonade "we were using our art almost as a therapy session," he said, and revealed that he was "really proud of the music he made, and I was very proud of the art that I published. " [19659007] Jay confirmed that he and Bey worked on a joint album together around the time Lemonade fell and that "they still have a lot of that music" that has not been released.

He also talked about atmospheric storms in their relationship. "You know, most people leave, and the divorce rate is like 50 percent or something like that because most people can not see themselves," he said.

The interview changed to conversations about his mother's baduality, of which he speaks on the subject 4:44 "Smile".

Jay said he knew his mother was gay since he was a teenager, but he said, "We never talked about that until recently, now we started having these beautiful conversations, and we really know each other … And then she was sharing She could be herself (now) She does not have to hide for her children or feel that she is embarrbading her children Then it was a very different moment (now) she can live her whole life, all her life and be her "

Hova also discussed the current state of his sometimes controversial relationship with West, which he described as "complicated".

"I've always been like his big brother," Jay-Z said in the interview. "And we're both artists, it's always been like a little underlying competition with your older brother, and we both love and respect each other's art as well, so it's as if we both want to be the best in the world."

] Jay recently spoke with West, saying that "there is genuine love". And even though there is tension, "in the long relationship, you know, with luck, when we are 89 years old, let's see these six months or whatever time it is and we will laugh at that".
