At Sunday night’s screening, Mona told Variety that the film reminds us that the past is not the past.
She explained: ‘The past is still not dead and I think the film is very topical and does a very good job, an extraordinary job of connecting and connecting the present and present of the past, what our future might be.’
The actress said: ‘I feel very honored to stand here and represent black women who have been eradicating white supremacy and systemic racism for centuries.’
