Houston Rockets guard James Harden spoke openly with reporters after the Rockets 117-100 loss at home to the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday evening.
Harden, who finished with 16 points, seven rebellions and six assists, said the Rockets are not good enough.
“I love this city,” Harden said. “I’ve literally done everything I can. I mean, this situation is crazy. It’s something I don’t think it can be fixed.”
In Tuesday’s loss, Harden played in his fourth game where he scored 20 points or less. This is Hardik’s longest break since the 2011–12 season when he played with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
ESPN’s Adrian Wojanowski reported that Harden is aware that the Rockets are discussing trade scenarios with the teams, although no deal is imminent. The value of Houston’s demand for heartfelt trades is stable.
Newly formed Rockets guard John Wall, who finished with 10 points and five assists in the game, said Chemistry is participating in the Rockets’ early season.
“When you have some people who don’t want to buy, it’s tough,” Wall said.
While the issue of the Rockets’ chemistry has been an issue, Wall did not hold back his ideas of having a relationship with Harden.
“It’s got a little rocky, won’t lie about that,” Wall said. “I don’t think it could be the best. That’s all I can say.”
Harden is averaging 26 points (10th in the league) in 37 minutes of action. He also leads the league in assists per game average with 11.
Houston (3-6) sits one place from the last place in the NBA Western Conference. The Rockets are also 3-3 at home and have dropped two consecutive games.
The Rockets returned to action on the road on Thursday against the San Antonio Spurs, a team that won a 112–102 road on Tuesday against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
