“Ink Master” star Daniel Silva has been sentenced to serve 364 days behind bars for the death of famed YouTuber Corey Barry.

A press release from the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office revealed that Silva received a four-year prison sentence, which was suspended. In addition, he was additionally given 250 hours of community service and five years of formal probation.

However, if he is found violating “the conditions of his probation”, a suspended sentence “may be imposed” on the defendant.

Silva’s attorney, Mike Caveluzzi, breathed a sigh of relief after the sentencing and noted that he is truly grateful to the District Attorney’s Office for providing his client with “an opportunity for probation” in the case. Cavalluzzi also said that Silva still regrets what he has done and is “sad” by Corey’s death.

“We are very grateful that Daniel has been given an opportunity for probation in this case and has been lodged in a state prison. He is repentant and sad due to the loss of Corey, “the people quoted Cavaluzzi.

Cavalluzzi also noted that he is very pleased with the court’s decision. However, he made it clear that this is “not the time to celebrate” as the world has lost a beautiful soul in the person of La Barry.

“As we have said from the beginning, our hearts are with the Corey family. While we are pleased with the court’s sentence, this is not the time to celebrate. A bright light has been lost in Corey, and Daniel will always strive to live in the memory of his dear friend, ”Cavalluzzi told the publication.

On May 10, Silva was taken into custody on charges of murder related to La Barry’s death, when the car later collided with a tree in Valley Village in Los Angeles. La Barry was sitting on the passenger seat when the passenger climbed the tree.

The car accident occurred on YouTuber’s 25th birthday.

In July, the District Attorney’s Office confirmed that Silva filed a “no contest” petition to kill the passenger in his car. Since then, La Barry’s parents have filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Silva.

Before his death, Corey LaBarry had over 330,000 subscribers on YouTube and over 200,000 followers on Instagram.
