The Buffalo Bills' try-out season got tougher on Tuesday.
The team announced that they placed both defensive end Shaq Lawson (ankle) as catcher Jordan Matthews (knee) in injured reserve.
Losing two key players for the rest of the season is just another blow for the Bills, who have lost four of their last five games and are out looking into the AFC postseason.
Lawson, who led the team in sacks with four, was injured in the second half of Sunday against the Patriots and did not return. Defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier, through the team's website, called the injury "a loss for us."
Matthews, meanwhile, tried to suffer a knee injury in recent weeks, but finished his season with only 25 receptions. an invoice. He is scheduled to be a free agent this dead season.
These are other injuries that we follow on Tuesday:
2. Atlanta Falcons coach Dan Quinn announced offensive guard Andy Levitre (biceps) will miss Thursday's game against the New Orleans Saints.
