India reported over 94,000 coronovirus cases, more than 1,000 deaths

Mumbai, September 13 (Reuters) – India reported 94,372 new cases of novel coronovirus on Sunday, with total cases exceeding 4.7 million, as infection numbers rose in several states following the gradual introduction of businesses.

Data from the Ministry of Health has shown that the number of deaths has increased to 78,586 with 1,114 new deaths.

While infections have increased in several states, including the capital New Delhi and central Chhattisgarh, the highest number was from India’s largest and richest state, Maharashtra, which recorded 8,204 new cases.

In a news briefing on Sunday, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray urged residents to wear masks and maintain social disturbances, amid growing fatigue over a pull-off lockdown that has led many to loose caution.

The Western state on Friday recorded its million coronovirus infection here, linking it with Russia in the epidemic and thwarting India’s attempts to subvert India’s merciless economy.

For Mumbai, the state’s densely-populated financial capital of 130 million people, has boosted infection numbers in India, likely to hit 5 million cases in the coming days, behind only the United States.
