How to get ‘Fall Guys’ free on PlayStation Plus today as its August feature

The Gir people are cleverly trying to follow the same road as Rocket League with a free month on PS Plus as part of Sony’s August Games selection, and it survives today.

At the time of this writing, the game has yet to hit the store for download, but you can check the store selection at this link here to see when it is and I will update this post. Modern Warfare 2 Remastered went live a few days ago at around 3PM ET, so I would expect Fall Guys to come no later than today, but hopefully earlier.

If you have a PS Plus subscription, there are two easy ways to download Fall Guys for free. The first is the giant plus logo that appears on your homescreen on the PS4, which will take you to the right on the main page, where the fallen ones must be painted while going live. The second is the PS Plus tab in the PlayStation Store. Fall Guys is not a very big game, so you don’t have to worry about some big Call of Duty downloads. As long as you have a PS Plus membership, you will keep the game, but lose it if you don’t.

The game officially launches on PC and PlayStation in September, but again, the goal here is to try to replicate the success of games such as Rocket League, which rose to prominence with a free month on PlayStation so that everyone could watch How nice it was. This translated into interest for the final release and the rest is history, a huge hit in the game that has been banned for years.

Do the fall guys have what it takes to be the next Rocket League? Early indications are that it is bound to be very popular, given the interest we have shown in our bets so far for this game. Developer Mediatonic has probably heard of you, but they have worked on dozens and dozens of games on the web and mobile in addition to new titles like Gears Pop! Before Fall Guys is a remake of the pigeon dating game, Hutiful Boyfriend, to Microsoft and its eventual collaboration with Devolver Digital. Yes, you read that correctly.

But there seems to be a breakout moment for Fall Guys Studios and for DeVolver as a publisher, as publicity for Fall Guys is already looking to surpass rival BR entries from big studios like Ubisoft’s Hyperscape. The game is goofy and physics-based and has already established a bizarre social media presence. After the limited preview I’ve seen so far, most of the big name streamers this month I’m about to give it a shot, because it’s a very big “viewer” game with lots of antics.

Now, with this feature of PS Plus, the entire PlayStation population will get to experience it for themselves today. I may have to wait until next week when I’ll be back in town to play, but I like what I’ve seen so far. Check back here for the exact time people fall back on PS Plus.
